I took this shot for a theme contest on Softpedia.
The theme was “Evil“.
The shot wasn’t accepted in the contest at first because it has a few artificial elements in it, so I had to remove the 3 things I collaged in it in order to submit it: the wallpaper, the oval picture and the “stain” on the down-right side of the wall.
What I don’t seem to understand is, why all of a sudden collages are “unwanted”. Even in former contests on the same website, collages were permitted.
The point is, you can’t always procure the props you need, so the “artificial way” is pretty much the only way. As long as its not barbaric and the elements don’t look “glued” to the shot I don’t see what the problem is.
